summer edit: primed and ready for summer♡

Primer is my best friend in Summer and today I am sharing with you the three primers
I own and how they help keep my makeup on through heat and all means of Summer
activities!

Body Shop All-In-One Instablur♡
Instablur is a very thick silicone based primer. It's the most expensive out of the three but is a
5-action perfector. It states it's shine controlling for 12 hours, reduces appearance of pores,
blemish hiding, complexion unifying and makeup extending. Very big promises for a little
tube of product. I have to say that this primer does make my skin look a lot better after
applying before my face makeup. It creates a flawless base and does keep my makeup on
for the majority of the day.

Mabelline Baby Skin♡
Mabelline Baby Skin is an instant pore eraser primer. It's more of a correcting primer to
make your skin a smoother base for foundation rather than a primer that's going to help
your makeup fully stay put. Apart from the odd touch ups needed when I have spots and
blemishes if I wear this primer my face makeup stays put. When I come home from school
and use my cleanser, makeup is still there on my face which means it does have that staying
power. The Baby Skin is a lot lighter than the Instablur and a lot more affordable.

Nivea Daily Essentails Express Hydration Primer♡
This primer is more of a moisturiser consistency. It is a thick cream and is very cooling on
the skin. It's almost like a moisturiser as well as a primer. This is the cheapest primer out of
the three. I use this mostly for school as it does keep my makeup on all day. I imagine this
will be perfect for people with dry skin as it is very moisturising although, I have
combination/oily skin and this formula is fine for me. When choosing this primer, make
sure you buy the correct one for your skin type. The pink for dry skin and the blue
for normal/combination. I had the dry skin one and it put far too much moisture onto
my skin and made my skin look oily.

body shop splurge♡

I definitely decided to treat myself to some Body Shop makeup goodies. I have been
desperately wanting to get my hands on these 3 items but I was definitely concerned
about the price tag so took advantage of the 40% off deal on all Body Shop products
plus free postage! When it comes to buying "expensive" makeup I am quiet hesitant.
I don't like parting with my money when you could get some drugstore alternatives.
Although, Body Shop makeup is considered high street this was quite pricy for me so a
 real treat!

(Since using the pair of bases I have come up in lots of spots. Weather that's hormonal
blemishes or not - my skin has reacted with something so the reviewing process is on
hold for the next few days!)

Honey Bronzer♡
This is such a raved about product especially by the fabulous Essiebutton on YouTube
and the blogsphere! I find a lot of bronzers on me are quite dark and need a lot of
powder and blending! I have never found the 'perfect' shade as my skin is really pale.
I had heard this bronzer is great for the paler folk. The honeycomb shape of the bronzer is
beautiful! I love the packaging too. I have used this every day since it came in the post and
it gives me a really natural matt bronzed look. I love how this looks!

All-in-one BB cream♡
I have been looking to buy myself a BB cream for the Spring/Summer as a lighter base.
I again, had heard good things about this. It's a white cream which colour adapts to your
skin tone. I of course, got the shade '00' and for paler folk this is a good colour!
It's definitely a 'pale' shade. I really love this as it's a really light coverage and doesn't
feel too heavy on the skin. It makes your skin look like your skin but better!

Instablur♡
Primers are my best friend in the Summer. This is a thicker version of the Baby Skin
but still has the silicone feel to it. It states to be a 5-action perfecter -  shine controlling
(12 hours), reduces appearance of pores, blemish hiding, complexion unifying and
makeup extending. Big promises from a small tube of product!
I'm excited to use this more to see if I agree with all those statements!
 I will keep you posted.

That's it for my little post! Hope you are all enjoying your holiday so far! Let me
know if you have tried any of these products.

skip into spring: outfits♡

Today I have the last part of our Spring Trilogy of my skip into spring series with my blogging best friends Rebekka and Charlotte

I love Spring fashion and I have a few different outfits that I have worn over the last week to share with you!

Beach Day Out♡
I love wearing dresses all year round. I'm not normally a monochrome person but I was drawn to this dress because of it's shape and cut. I think dresses that pull in at the waist are really flattering although this dress is a little big around the bodice area!

Gingham dress - H&M
Pastel pink cardigan - New Look
Dolly shoes - Primark
Parker coat - Dorothy Perkins (petite)

Family Meal♡
I think pastel colours scream Spring and Summer. I love skirts like this because they are flattering but also really comfortable!

Blouse - H&M
Floral skirt - New Look
Denim jacket - New Look
White converse - Converse

Casual Day♡
Oh how I love kimonos! I never normally wear trousers but I have fallen in love with this £8 pair from Primark! They fit me perfectly and are a lot more comfortable than jeans!

White tee - H&M
Trousers - Primark

faith♡

One of my blogging best friends Rebekka and I decided to do a little post all about 'faith.' People in this world all think differently about faith. Some strongly believe in theories - others don't. I wanted my blog to be an outlet to talk about whatever I wanted to weather that be makeup, clothes or things that are a little more personal to me. My faith is something that plays a huge part in my life and I don't know if I've shared it with you! Of course, by no means am I trying to put you off reading my blog by shoving my faith in your face but I wanted to put it out there as to what it means to me to live for Jesus.

Becoming a Christian♡
I became a Christian when I was 11. I have always been brought up in a Christian household and was christened when I was 2. My Mum has always had very strong Christian morals and brought us up like that. When I was 10 Mum took us to a small Methodist chapel to see what Church was like. Before then I would go occasionally at Christmas and with Primary School. I enjoyed it a lot and we stayed there for about a year. Me and my sister used to do Sunday school and learnt more about the Bible. We were the only children and my Mum was the youngest adult there. The congregation was mainly older couples so we decided to go to another Church which was a lot more family orientated. This wasn't as traditional as the Methodist. I feel like when non-christians think of Church they think of a cold, grey building with boring hymns. I remember first going to our new Church and hearing loud drums and electric guitars! It wasn't in a traditional church building either. There was lots of children, different things to do and it felt like a little community. I don't remember a specific date I gave my life to Jesus but it was in a kids group and a large group of us gave our lives to Jesus which means that you make a promise in your heart and to God that you will live for him. Then, on September 1st 2013 I got baptised which means I made a public declaration that I will live for Jesus.

What's it all about?♡
I believe that Jesus came to this Earth and is the son of God. He died on the cross to save our sins so we can live eternally in Heaven with Him. Being a Christian means you believe this is true. I believe that being a Christian is a relationship with Jesus. Being a Christian is not all about regulations and what you can't do and rules. He loves and knows every single person in this world. He knows every sin and bad thing you have done but His promise means we can be free of the chains of sin that hold us down. All the regrets in your life can be cast aside.

What Jesus has done for me♡
Jesus has done so many things for me in my life. I know this because I have definitely become a better version of myself since going to Church and giving my life to Jesus. I feel like He has always been there. When I listen to songs and pray I feel like a weight is lifted off my shoulders and that my life is not always in my control! When I used to suffer with bad panic attacks someone would pray for me and instantly they would go away. Like a stormy sea that turned calm. When things take a turn for the worst there is your Saviour watching over you knowing that things will get better and leading you on your journey. It's a friendship and one I could never turn away from. I need Jesus in my life because He makes me happy and peaceful!

Favourite bible verse♡
Jeremiah 29:11 - 'For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Music
I have made a playlist featuring my favourite songs click here to have a listen!

I asked my two pen pals to write a little section about their journey with God! Thank you so much girlies! You can find Amy here and Abbie here!

Amy's story♡

The misconception of growing up in a Christian family is that its easy, you are born into faith and you don't have you build a relationship with God. But you do. For years I sat in Sunday school wondering what am I doing but never the less I'd sit and colour in the christian worksheets. Then as I got older I started to think about my faith, I'd go to a christian convention called Spring Harvest, I would go with my church youth and without fail I'd create the best memories.

Then i would leave with my spiritual cup full, but as i would go through the days and weeks my cup would empty. Then I'd go re-fill it at church, but as time went on I grew apart from God. However you would still see me at Church, I had to please my parents even if i wasn't happy.

Then one night at a church bible study, we prayed about finding God and getting closer to him, and I was so overcome with emotion that i hurst into tears. Then afterwards I had a wave of peacefulness and thats how i came to realise that your relationship is between you and God and nobody can control that. I also learnt that its okay to feel disconnected from God.

Being a christian to me means a sense of security and knowing that i will never come to harm because God is watching over and I never have to worry because God has a plan for me.

Abbie's story♡

Faith is something that is really important to me! Like many Christians, I believe that God sent his son, Jesus, to die on the cross to take away our sin! I just wanted to tell you a little bit about me and why I decided to live for Jesus.

I was born into a Christian family but my parents made it very clear that it was completely my decision and that I didn't have to go to church and live for Jesus if I didn't want to. I went through a lot of tough moments in my life where I know, even though I have felt very alone, God was standing with me and helping me get through the hardest moments, such as things like struggling with friends at school and my grandma being diagnosed with cancer. But the point in my life where I knew that I wanted to live for Jesus was when I went to a summer camp in 2010 where there were thousands of youth that were Christians all worshipping, singing, dancing, people getting healed and people coming to God. It was so amazing and I knew that my life would be easier knowing God's love compassion and grace! From then on I have lived a life with full of God and it has been the most amazing journey ❤️

Living for God doesn't stop you from going through the really difficult times in life, but he shows us amazing grace and loves us all the time!

My favourite bible verse is:
"I will love thee, O Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower."
(Psalms 18:1-2 KJV)

Good Luck!
